Church History
Ebenezer United Holy Outreach Church was called out by God on
July 13, 1980. We began at 3428 W. Caton Ave Baltimore, Md. under the leadership of the late Dr. Geraldine Lee Peterson with 2 members. Dr. Peterson said the Lord spoke to her to name the church out of (1 Samuel 7:12) "Then Samuel took a stone, and set it between Mizpeh and Shen, and called the name of it Ebenezer, saying Hitherto has the Lord helped us". Hitherto means up to this time. From July, 1980 to February, 1981, we worshiped in the basement of the Pastor's home. While there we purchased benches, chairs, offering tables and a used piano, etc.
We had revivals and many members came in from time to time. Bible Church School was organized on February 22, 1981. We moved to our first building - 2436 Madison Avenue , Baltimore Md. on February 29, 1981. Ministers would come help us. We worked hard with our hands because we didn't have the resource to get hired help. The members put their resources together and we got the job done. One of our former members moved the church furniture into our first building on Madison Ave. We replaced the roof and renovated the interior and exterior. We remember when the roof was leaking, the minister that was speaking that evening had to step to the side to keep the rain from coming down on him.
in March 2004 we moved to our present location - 3105 Puget Street, Baltimore, MD. 21230.
On June 11, 2017 we had our Mortgage Burning Service, To God be the Glory for the good things he has done for Ebenzer!
We are marching to Zion to help others find the way to Christ. We at Ebenezer are determine to repair the breaches and lift up the banner of holiness high. Our motto is: "So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof: for the people had a mind to work. " (Nehemiah 4:6)
Having obtained help from God we continue to this day.
Humbly submitted.
